dana4atkins’s Profile

Bio

I have been on Atkins since July 2009. During this time I lost 19 lbs. and have 35 lbs. more to lose until I reach my goal weight.

For eighteen years I was a strict vegetarian and extremely health conscious. I was physically fit and maintained a size 3 my entire adulthood. I was one of those people that others h@ted for being trim and fit and could eat anything without gaining an ounce.

When I turned 47 years old things took a turn. I began putting on weight just by looking at food, or so it seemed. The pounds began adding up and I became less and less active. During this time I also began weaning myself away from a vegetarian lifestyle and adopted unhealthy eating habits. This along with my changing hormones led to a 90 lb. weight gain over a period of three years.

Last year I developed joint pains that were unbearable. The excess weight was literally immobilizing me. This was the straw that broke the camels back. I began a weight lose program that counted calories. I lost 50 of the 90 lbs, basically through starvation. Gained 10 lbs. back and was feeling ill and hungry constantly. Obviously this was not going to work for me on a long term basis.

My uncle joined Atkins in 1982. He lost 136 lbs, and for all these years has maintained his goal weight. What more proof do I need that Atkins works if you work it?

I Wish you All a Healthy, Happy Lifestyle.
