Help, I seem to be running out of carbs before I get enough calories. I get my 14 g carbs from veggies , eat mostly lean protein, and just started adding nuts. (I am going into OWL have to figure out how to change the number thingy) I reach 25 carbs but only 1200 calories. How can I get more calories.
You are supposed to be counting NET carbs. Not just carbs. That is carbs minus the fiber.
In your profile, hit edit and you can do it there.
You can add butter and olive oil and good protein.
I am depending on FITDAY to count the carbs. I thought they were showing NET DUH
I still can't figure out how the Atkins bars figure out that they are only 3 net carbs. Starting with 19 minus 5 for fiber minus 3 sugar alcohol that leaves 11. What else comes off ??
The Atkins bars are made with glycerin also and if you subtract the impact of the glycerin it would bring you to that net carb amount.
They are just what they say they are.
With fitday, you need to subtract the total fiber from the total net carbs then subtract the non veggie net carbs from the other net carbs to get to where you should be.
Take a look at fatsecret.com . It is free. I may be easier for you.
Yep, Baylor is easy! ;-)
www.fatsecret.com is too :-D
LOL... Don't tell my DH!
Just found out Atkins doesn't count the glycerin
I tried fatsecret first and didn't like it, I thought fitday was easier, but I guess I will give fatsecret a second look. Does it actually show you netcarbs
Yes, if you set your profile to the Atkins diet, and tell it what you want to count. If you click fibre as well as carbohydrates, it then counts net carbs.
I find fatsecret to be a heckuva lot easier to use than fitday. Especially for adding custom recipes and new foods.
Plus when you set your profile to which diet you're following, it helps you along and you can see other updates in the community of people also on the same diet plan.
REBA & BAYLOR ,
I also have tried fatsecret and just couldn't figure it out. Yes, I'm very computer challenged ! I've heard you say it is easier and will count fiber for you, but I just don't know how to make it do that. Any help would be appreciated and I'll give it another go.
